Advisory Board

The Biomedical Engineering Advisory Board consists of a group of leaders from industry and the medical profession who review curricula and recommend actions. They provide our students with internships, co-ops, funding and mentoring for design projects. They are invaluable to the success of our program. The Advisory Board meets twice a year.

Advisory Board Mission

The mission of the Advisory Board is to:

Advise and assist the department in pursuing its mission (see below).
Serve directly and by way of additional contacts to provide industrial, clinical/medical and research/academic recommendations for the departmental strategic goals, and for departmental development, planning, curricula and diversity.
Assist in securing the financial support and resources needed to maintain excellence in teaching, research, and outreach.
Interface with students, faculty, and staff on activities including internships, senior design, post graduate placement, and/or joint research.
Interface with the University administration, Texas Legislature, and other key political and professional groups to promote the importance of biomedical engineering education and its value to society.

The advisory board meets twice per year.
