Vascular Biomechanics Lab

129 WERC

The Vascular Biomechanics lab is under the direction of Professor James E. Moore Jr., who came to A&M in 2003. The lab focuses on the role of fluid and solid mechanical phenomena in the development and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Current and past research projects include the analysis of stresses in the artery wall due to stent implantation, flow patterns in stented arteries, effects of stress and stress gradients on cell behavior, flow patterns in vena cava filters, the mechanics of biodegradable structures, and flow patterns in lymphatic vessels.
